A water test gives your treatment design a starting point. HydroGrid coordinates partner-laboratory testing and explains the results in the context of what you want to use the water for.

When to test

Before selecting filtration, when a water source changes, or when staining, odour or sediment appears. Tell us whether your water is for household use, drinking, irrigation or a business.

Choose the right assessment

The R850 Borehole Water Quality Assessment provides a pre-treatment chemistry baseline and excludes microbiology. The R1,600 Borehole Drinking Water Assessment adds E. coli and total coliforms. Confirm the full agreed scope and collection charge before booking.

Sampling without the guesswork

Tell us your town and whether the sample is raw or treated. We confirm bottles, collection timing and laboratory handling requirements before you collect it. Microbiology needs particular care; do not dispatch a sample before arrangements are confirmed.

Results with a next step

We help explain the findings and identify where treatment, further investigation or additional testing may be needed. Equipment selection follows the report and intended use.

Questions before you start

Can you arrange testing outside KZN?

Send your town and assessment requirements. Courier feasibility and laboratory acceptance must be confirmed for your sample.

Does the R850 test cover bacteria?

No. It is a chemistry assessment; ask us about microbiology and the scope needed for your intended use.

Home ↗ / Services ↗ / Drinking-water testing

For borehole users, treated-water systems and water-supply operators, HydroGrid helps establish what needs to be tested and coordinates the appropriate partner-laboratory service.

Raw or treated water?

Raw-water assessment helps inform treatment design. A sample collected after treatment helps assess the output at that sampling point. Tell us where you plan to take the sample.

Household and business requirements

A household enquiry, a refill operation and a business verification request may require different parameters and documentation. Send any written requirement so the laboratory scope can be matched to it.

Chemistry and microbiology

These address different questions. Confirm both the parameter list and sampling instructions. A limited panel should not be presented as comprehensive drinking-water compliance.

Clear quotation before booking

The borehole drinking-water assessment is listed at R1,600. Treated-water verification and business scopes are quoted against your requirements. Collection and courier charges are confirmed separately.

Questions before you start

Can I use an ordinary bottle?

Ask for the correct container and instructions first, especially for microbiology. Container choice can affect the usefulness of a sample.

Will I receive a certificate?

Tell us the exact document you need. We confirm the report and scope before booking; a test report is not a blanket certification of an entire supply system.

Reduce uncertainty with treatment selected from your water analysis, daily demand and site layout. HydroGrid brings filtration, storage, pumping and controls into a coordinated system.

Start with the report

Staining, sediment and odour are useful clues, but do not define the complete treatment requirement. Supply a recent laboratory report or arrange an assessment.

Plan the complete water route

Consider the source, raw-water storage, treatment, treated-water storage and distribution. Available space, flow and power supply influence the layout.

Select treatment for the problem

Depending on the results, a design may include conditioning, filtration, iron and manganese removal, softening, membranes or disinfection. Each stage needs a defined purpose.

Keep it serviceable

Access for media changes, filter servicing and pump maintenance should be part of the design. The proposal should also explain operating needs and commissioning checks.

Questions before you start

Do all boreholes need reverse osmosis?

No. Treatment selection depends on the report and intended use. RO should have a clear reason in the design.

Can you improve an existing plant?

Yes, enquire with the report, equipment photographs and a description of the problem. We first establish which components may be reusable.

Domestic & commercial water backup

Backup water systems that keep your property running.

Storage, pumping, controls and safe plumbing integration designed around your actual water demand — for homes, complexes, offices and businesses.

Home ↗ / Services ↗ / Backup water systems

When the municipal supply is interrupted or unreliable, a properly designed backup system can automatically supply stored water to your property. HydroGrid sizes the tank, pump, controls and plumbing around the people, fixtures and operating requirements on site.

What a HydroGrid backup system can include

A typical installation may include a water storage tank, pressure pump, automatic pump controller, isolation and non-return valves, float control, pipework, electrical connection, overflow routing, pump protection and commissioning. Where required, filtration or disinfection can be added as a separate treatment stage.

Automatic changeover

The goal is simple: when normal supply is unavailable, stored water should be available without turning the property into a daily manual operation. The exact control arrangement depends on the existing plumbing and water source, so we assess how the backup supply should integrate before finalising the installation.

How much storage do you need?

Tank size should be based on expected daily consumption and how long you want the property to operate during an interruption. A small household and a 40-room hotel have very different requirements. HydroGrid considers occupants, bathrooms, kitchens, irrigation or process use, peak demand and the desired backup period before recommending capacity.

Pressure matters too

Storage alone does not guarantee usable water. The pump must provide suitable flow and pressure for the number of outlets that may operate at the same time. Multi-storey properties, larger homes and commercial buildings may require a different pumping arrangement from a simple single-storey home.

Backup water plus treatment

If the stored supply comes from a borehole, rainwater or another alternative source, water quality should be assessed separately. Depending on the intended use, the system can be paired with filtration, pH correction, iron and manganese treatment, softening, UV, ozone or reverse osmosis where technically appropriate.

Common backup-water questions

Can you install a backup system for a normal home?

Yes. The system can be planned around household demand, available space and the existing plumbing arrangement. Tank and pump sizing should be confirmed from the site requirements rather than selected only by price.

Can the system switch automatically?

Automatic operation can be incorporated where the plumbing and control arrangement allows it. HydroGrid confirms the appropriate configuration for the property during assessment.

Can I use borehole water as the backup source?

Potentially, but the water source and intended use should be assessed. Borehole water may require testing and treatment before being used for household or drinking purposes.

Do you install systems for businesses and larger properties?

Yes. Commercial backup design can include larger storage volumes, higher-flow pumping, controls and treatment where required. Demand and peak-flow information are important for sizing.

Can you quote from photographs?

Photographs can help us prepare an initial scope. Depending on the plumbing, electrical requirements and site conditions, a site assessment may still be required before a final installation quote.

Keep the water flowing

Planning a backup water system?

Send HydroGrid your location, property type, number of users and photographs of the proposed tank position. We can then determine the next step for sizing and quotation.

Specify output your operation can use.

Home ↗ / Services ↗ / Commercial & industrial RO plants

For businesses that need a defined treated-water quality, HydroGrid plans reverse-osmosis systems around feed-water analysis, production demand and site conditions.

Define the output

State daily demand, peak flow, operating hours and the water quality your process requires. Litres per hour and litres per day are different design inputs.

Understand the feed

Feed-water chemistry helps determine pretreatment and membrane suitability. A plant should not be selected from output capacity alone.

Include the supporting systems

Raw and product storage, dosing, pumps, controls, power and concentrate management all affect the installation. Agree these interfaces in the proposal.

Consider operating costs

Ask about consumables, servicing, energy and replacement components as well as the purchase price. Operating assumptions should be explicit.

Questions before you start

Can you expand an existing system?

Share its rated output, actual production, feed report and photographs. Expansion depends on pretreatment, membranes and supporting equipment.

What determines the price?

Feed quality, production target, automation, storage and site work. A site-specific proposal is more useful than a single generic plant price.

Bring treatment, storage and dispensing together in a layout suited to your proposed store. HydroGrid helps translate your source and sales-volume assumptions into an equipment scope.

Begin with the source

Tell us whether the store will use municipal, borehole or another source. Water quality determines the treatment design.

Set a realistic daily target

Estimate daily sales, container sizes and opening hours. Production and storage should support demand without relying only on a headline equipment rating.

Design a practical layout

Allow for treatment equipment, tanks, a dispensing counter, drainage, servicing and bottle handling. Send room dimensions and photographs.

Plan beyond installation

Testing arrangements, operating procedures, consumables and maintenance need to be considered before opening. Business permissions and site requirements should be checked with the relevant authorities.

Questions before you start

Can you supply treatment and dispensing equipment?

Enquire about a coordinated scope covering treatment, storage and the dispensing area.

Can I start small?

Discuss your initial volume and expansion plans. The design should identify what can be added later and what needs capacity from the beginning.

Irrigation, livestock and farm processing have different requirements. HydroGrid starts with the source, water analysis and intended application.

Separate the applications

Identify irrigation zones, livestock supply, staff facilities and any processing uses. A single water-quality target may not suit every use.

Protect the delivery system

Sediment and deposits can affect pumps, filters and irrigation equipment. Send details of the existing system and the symptoms you are seeing.

Bring demand into the design

Include seasonal demand, pumping hours, storage and peak flow. These inputs help size treatment without overlooking the distribution system.

Evaluate the water in context

Provide any crop, process or equipment water specifications. Where specialist agronomic input is needed, treatment should be coordinated with that advice.

Questions before you start

Can you help with irrigation-only water?

Yes. Clearly identify the intended use so the proposal can focus on the irrigation requirement.

What should I send first?

Your location, water report, source, flow requirement and photographs of existing equipment.

Review notes

What this draft adds

A review copy of the current website with a connected set of new pages.

Home ↗ / Services ↗ / What this draft adds

The existing homepage is retained

The live homepage layout, colours, logo, photographs and existing service sections are kept. Added navigation connects eight detailed service pages, regional arrangements, four complete guides and the existing project photographs.

Publish as individual pages

This single HTML uses hash navigation so it can be opened as one file. For the live website, each service and guide needs its own crawlable URL, unique title, description and canonical URL. This preview is marked noindex and is not a production SEO deployment.

Grow locations with evidence

Start with these regional arrangements. Add city pages when there is distinct local project evidence and useful service detail. Avoid duplicating a page with only the city name changed. Northern Cape enquiries are included in national coverage.

Build stronger case studies

Use approved installation photographs, confirmed capacities, the actual design scope and client permission before adding names or reports. No before-and-after results or testimonials have been invented here.

Resolve prices before publishing

The current homepage lists R3,200 treated-water testing and R4,950 commercial testing. Those existing values remain untouched in this draft. Confirm the current price list before publication; new pages use confirmed scope enquiries for those services.

Measure useful enquiries

On the live site, configure Search Console, a sitemap and consent-aware analytics. Track WhatsApp clicks, calls and enquiries by landing page. No ads or tracking accounts are activated by this file.

Editorial quality comes first

Publish guides when they answer a real customer question and have been checked. Four per week can be a planning target, but useful content and verified examples matter more than the count.
